The Super-LumiNova pigments function like small light storage batteries. These can be charged with UV and visible light and then emit the stored light energy continuously. This charging process and afterglow are infinitely repeatable and are not subject to wear or aging.

Mixed with a proper paint system, Super-LumiNova afterglow pigments can be applied to dials and hands by various techniques such as screen printing, transfer printing, or manually.
