Beeswax serves as a versatile aid both in maintenance processes and in production.
Friction reduction
Wax is used on leather watch straps to reduce friction between the leather and metal parts. In contrast to oil or grease, it leaves less noticeable marks and is therefore gentle on the material.
Stone fixing
In precision mechanics, wax is used as a temporary fixing agent for small stones or gemstones. These are pressed in with wax, which enables precise positioning. The advantage lies in the simple removal by heating the wax.
Removal of case backs
When opening watch cases, wax is used to make it easier to push out the case backs. It provides the necessary grip and at the same time minimizes the risk of damaging the case.
