The material Inox 08 is characterized by its composition of carbon, manganese, chromium, molybdenum and vanadium, which gives it a high resistance to rust and salt. Although Inox 08 is less hard than carbon steel, it still offers sufficient strength for precise work while reducing the risk of damaging sensitive watch parts. The material can also be sterilized up to 180 °C and can withstand temperatures of up to 400 °C.

The magnetic properties of the material must be taken into account in certain applications.
