Oxylene fast oxide for Ag and Cu, alkaline, 1 litre
Oxylen Rapid Oxide Colouring Bath is used to blackening silver, copper and their corresponding alloys. It creates a full, rich black tone with a blue shimmer, which with the appropriate finishing treatment (brushing, polishing etc.) can be used to create shading or an antique effect.
Application
First the work pieces to be treated must be electrolytically degreased so that during the colouring process there is no stain formation due to inadequate moistening. The colouring itself is done by repeatedly immersing the work piece for short periods in the undiluted solution. For baths, which have already been used several times, the exposure time must be extended up to 60 seconds. After treatment rinse the piece thoroughly in water. After this the surface colour can be toned down using a mild polishing agent on the buffing disc or with moistened pumice powder on a brush.
