Paris oxide for black colouring of precious metals and copper alloy (3,4 g Pd/l) (ready for use 250 ml)
The Paris Oxide Coloring Bath imparts a black tone to silver and copper and their corresponding alloys. It creates a durable, anthracite-colored tone, which can be varied by subsequent brushing or polishing. The Paris Oxide Bath contains small amounts of palladium.
Application
The pieces to be treated are first electrolytically degreased to prevent stains from occurring due to inadequate moistening. The coloring itself is done with the aid of a hairbrush or by repeatedly immersing the workpieces in the undiluted solution. Upon completion of the process, leave the pieces to air (do not rinse!). After this, the color can be toned down with a mild polishing agent on the buffer wheel or with moistened pumice powder on a brush. The Paris Oxide Bath contains highly inflammable solvents and must not be warmed up.
