Jentner gold plating bath JE250, fine gold, 3g Au/l, acidic, ready to use, 1 l
The JE250 gold plating bath is a mildly acidic hard gold electrolyte that deposits yellow, uniformly lustrous hard gold coatings. It is suitable for both technical and decorative applications, as the deposited layers exhibit high resistance to corrosion and abrasion. Under optimal conditions, high-gloss, well-adhered gold coatings with a maximum thickness of 8 μm can be achieved. This value is highly variable and depends on the gold content and the temperature of the bath. The coating consists of a gold/cobalt alloy.
Operating Data
- Voltage 2.5–4 V
- Bath temperature 20–40 °C
- Anode material: platinum-coated titanium
- Material movement required
- Anode/cathode area ratio 1:1
- Deposition rate approx. 22 mg/min
- Current density approx. 1–2.5 A/dm²
- Bath filtration from 10 liters
- pH 4.0 (3.8–4.2)
- Density 1.035 g/ml (1.030–1.050)
Deposition data
- Hardness 150 – 220 HV
- Coating thickness max. 8 μm
- Purity of the gold coating approx. 99.5% Au
Bath monitoring/regeneration
Bath monitoring should be performed at regular intervals. Regeneration must be carried out no later than after 20% of the gold has been extracted. The pH value and density should be checked regularly and corrected accordingly if deviations occur.
