Masking lacquer red is suitable for masking surfaces when only partial plating is required. Recommended for the masking of larger surface areas. Masking lacquer red is very easy to apply and generally shows good resistance to the electroplating electrolytes.

Application

Before masking with the lacquer, the work piece must be free of grease and clean. We recommend preliminary ultrasonic or electrolytic degreasing. Once the masking lacquer has been applied, excessive degreasing times should be avoided as well as the stress of ultrasonic or electrolytic degreasing.

If required, the lacquer can be diluted before use with a thinner. The degree of dilution depends on the way of applying the lacquer and should possibly be determined by a preliminary test. The lacquer can be applied by means of a brush, a roller or airbrush. After the treatment, the lacquer can be removed by thinner.

Drying

Air drying
Dust will not adhere, can be handled min. 15 - 20 minutes, better around 60 minutes
Ready for assembly around 3 - 4 hours
Completely dried out around 12 - 15 hours

Storage and Shelf Life

Around 6 months in original, closed container if stored in a cool place.
